Contact time:
This was the beginning of something new. This was the beginning of…primary research. We began the session by correcting each other’s blog. I corrected Lauryn’s while she corrected mine. Despite her not being in the last session, she did her best to write a blog and she mentioned that she will improve the blog in the future.
It was then time to talk about how to contact people for our primary research. Dave recommended to us to put the people we are going to contact in a separate email list, so we can distinguish between our personal and journalism contacts. He continued on by saying to keep the questions short and specific.
Dave also mentioned that, while you will get a reply from some people, you won’t get a reply from some people too, as it depends how easy it is to contact them. We should be asking the same question more than once and should be aware on how many questions we send to the people we want to get answers from.
After this, we grouped all the questions, and organised them to see which questions we were going to send to which people.
Dave said to be honest with the people we are sending emails too, and to also contact them twice, as there is a slight chance that they will not reply the first time around.
It was now up to us to make contact with them. This was one of our tasks, and as always, we must publish a blog, which I am currently doing!
Since last session:
Regarding Ireland, there has been quite a bit of news since our last session. Sadly, once again, the Irish national football team have another setback in their UEFA Nations League campaign. My heart is slightly getting shattered due to this, but I’m optimistic about the future!
The Irish Presidential Election is upon us too, and it is spicing up in the televised debates! I am really enjoying them, and I look forward in watching the rest of them.

Update on tasks:
The work I completed in this session was getting all my questions prepared for my primary research. I began to research on how I can contact the people that I want to ask questions to, as they can have a few social media accounts, or have their email visible.
I believe I have fulfilled the tasks outlined in the project management plan. I have made contact, but I have not made contact again. I am confident that they will reply to me, as I want to wait a couple of days. If they don’t, then I will send them another message. I am currently on track to meet the next deadline, and I had enough time to complete my tasks.
Problems:
I did not identify any risk or issues due to a lack of skills. However, I did encounter the problem of trying to find different ways to contact the people I want to get in touch with. Unfortunately, this is something that I can’t overcome, but I’m hoping their Twitter accounts will be enough! There is also the problem if they do not reply. As mentioned above, I’ll try to overcome this by sending them another message.
News ideas and global changes:
I believe there were no changes made to the project management plan this session, and I have no new ideas to reveal in this blog.
Personal Reflection:
The barriers that I encountered were a bit tough, as there is a chance that I won’t be able to go pass those barriers. I am just hoping that the people I have contacted will get back to me. I also hope I have performed to an acceptable standard in this session, and I want to contribute more in the future classes! I do not know if I can improve on being more demanding to the people that I want for my primary research, but I believe they will get back to me, so that I won’t have to be demanding!
Before next session:
I do not have to complete anything before the next session. As always, I am just patiently waiting for the next class!
Deadlines:
According to the project management plan, it is an honour to say that I am currently on schedule with my work!
Tutor comments:
I have no comments for Dave that need addressing, but I will let him know if I have any problems!
